Meter Reading & Water Service Information

Monthly Meter Readings

The City of Brooklet reads water meters around the 20th of each month. Usage reflected on your utility bill is based on the reading collected during theis monthly cycle. Bills are calculated using the difference between the previous and current meter readings.

Ownership of Water Meters

All water meters are the property of the City of Brooklet. Meters and meter boxes are maintained by the City, and any tampering, unauthorized access, or operation is strictly prohibited and if found will be prosecuted.

Turning Water Service On or Off

Only authorized City of Brooklet employees are permitted to turn water service on or off. The only exception is in the even of a water leak on the customer's side of the meter, where a licensed plumber may perform an emergency shut-off strictly for the purpose of making necessary repairs. Once repairs are complete, the City should be contacted if further assistance is needed.
